History Of Vinyl Pool Liners In Australia
Vinyl liners have been used in residential swimming pools since the late 1940s. Originally, the liners were made from a rubber-like material known as chlorinated polyethylene (CPE), which is a type of synthetic rubber. However, CPE liners were not very durable and often only lasted a few years before needing to be replaced.

In the 1960s, manufacturers began to experiment with new materials for vinyl liners. Polyvinyl chloride (PVC) was found to be a better material for liner production because it was more durable and resistant to chemicals and UV rays. PVC liners were also easier to install than CPE liners, which required specialized tools and expertise.
